Born and raised in Salem, Paul was the son of the late Henry G. and Helena M. (Arsenault) Deschamps.   A graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lynn, Paul joined in the operation of the family-owned Deschamps Brothers Printing Company of Salem.

During World War II, he served primarily in France and Germany with Battery B of the 59 th Battalion.   Following the war he returned to Salem and continued working in the printing company until his retirement in 1989.   He was a member of the International Typographical Union.

Paul took great pride in his craft as a printer.   To celebrate Paul's contributions to the printing industry in New England and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Printing & Publishing Council of New England Scholarship Fund in the memory of Paul H.
